2014 Films

While most nominations for the European Film Awards 2014 had gone to LEVIATHAN by Andrey Zvyagintsev, the big winner was the film IDA (Poland, Denmark) which won European Film, Director for Pawel Pawlikowski, Screenwriter for Pawel Pawlikowski and Rebecca Lenkiewicz, and Cinematographer for Łukasz Żal and Ryszard Lenczewski, as well as the People's Choice Award.

European Discovery 2014 - Prix FIPRESCI went to Myroslav Slaboshpytskiy for THE TRIBE (Ukraine), Short Film 2014 went to the German-Croatian co-production THE CHICKEN by Una Gunjak, European Documentary 2014 to MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE (Germany, Austria) by Marc Bauder. Timothy Spall received the award European Actor for his role in MR. TURNER, his French colleague Marion Cotillard European Actress for TWO DAYS, ONE NIGHT.

Further awards went to LOCKE (Justine Wright, Editor), THE DARK VALLEY (Claus-Rudolf Amler, Production Designer and Natascha Curtius-Noss, Costume Designer), UNDER THE SKIN (Mica Levi, Composer), and STARRED UP (Joakim Sundström, Sound Designer).
