‘Lato 2014’ (Summer 2014) – animated movie, which depicts pessimistic view of human’s fate. Universal tale of world possessed by evil. The same piece of land in shown multiple times in different scenes. At the beginning there is a bloody battle of swords, axes and spears. Then follows plagues and conflagration. Next it becomes an arena of war, uprising and famine – a spectator can observe it through breaches in walls of city cemetery.
In a short while from the blood-soaked earth sprout grains and grass. The nature is reborn, it flourish and presents itself in its fullest form: as a summer. However the repetition is painful and pessimistic, the world trapped in vicious cycle of evil is unable to break free.

Biography of the Director/s
Wojciech Sobczyk
animated film director, illustrator and photographer. He was born in 1974 in Piotrków Trybunalski. He graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow where he currently works as an academic at the Animated Film Studio.
