2015 Films
Like every second year, the 2015 European Film Awards took place in Berlin. The big winner was YOUTH (Italy, France, UK, Switzerland) which won Film, Director for Paolo Sorrentino and Actor for Michael Caine.
European Documentary went to Asif Kapadia for AMY (UK), European Short Film to Jure Pavlovic for PICNIC (Croatia),
European Animated Feature Film 2015 to Tomm Moore from Ireland for SONG OF THE SEA (Ireland, Belgium, Denmark, France, Luxembourg) and EUROPEAN DISCOVERY 2015 – Prix FIPRESCI to Deniz Gamze Ergüven for MUSTANG (France, Germany, Turkey). Roy Andersson received the award European Comedy 2015 for A PIGEON SAT ON A BRANCH REFLECTING ON EXISTENCE (Sweden, France, Germany, Norway) and Charlotte Rampling European Actress for her role in 45 YEARS.
European Screenwriter 2015 went to Yorgos Lanthimos & Efthimis Filippou from Greece for THE LOBSTER which also won European Costume Designer for Sarah Blenkinsop.
Further awards went to GOODNIGHT MOMMY (Martin Gschlacht, Cinematographer), BODY (Jacek Drosio, Editor), THE BRAND NEW TESTAMENT (Sylvie Olivé, Production Designer), THE DUKE OF BURGUNDY (Cat's Eyes, Composers) and ARABIAN NIGHTS (Miguel Martins and Vasco Pimentel, Sound Designers).
The People's Choice Award went to MARSHLAND by Alberto Rodríguez.
