I ACCIDENTALLY WROTE A BOOK tells the very personal and inspiring story of a 12-year-old girl, Nina, who discovers the healing power of writing. As she learns to write, Nina uncovers her family's history, experiences the long-suppressed grief of her long-lost mother, and gains a deeper sense of self. Through her writing, we follow the daily life of a young teenage girl as she struggles to create art while experiencing her first love and all the difficulties and beauty of becoming a woman. All this is depicted through unique visual elements that blend live action and animation, celebrating the wonder of storytelling.

Statement of the director:
Sometimes it’s easier to write something down than to say it out loud. I ACCIDENTALLY WROTE A BOOK celebrates the transformative power of writing. Our film encourages young people to face their fears and challenges, because that’s the first step towards happiness and self-discovery. Told with humour and sensitivity, it explores themes such as coping with loss or the reorganisation of a family. These are experiences that children often encounter in everyday life. It’s a story about taking the next step: in family, in friendship, in growing up, and in creativity. Writing becomes a metaphor for life’s big questions. The film’s visual style is playful and poetic, letters come to life on screen, creating a dreamlike, lyrical atmosphere that invites us into the protagonist’s inner world.
We believe this is a film that helps us live bravely and love deeply. A story that dares to be emotional, speaks from the heart, and, we hope, stays in the hearts of its audience.
