2018 Films

Celebrated in Seville (Spain), the 31st European Film Awards honoured achievements in various films from across the continent. Among them were French-British-Belgian co-production THE DEATH OF STALIN by Armando Iannucci which won European Comedy, GIRL (Belgium, the Netherlands) by Lukas Dhont which won European Discovery - Prix FIPRESCI, ANOTHER DAY OF LIFE (Poland, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Hungary) by Raul de la Fuente and Damian Nenow which won European Animated Feature Film and THE YEARS (Italy, France) by Sara Fgaier which won European Short Film.

The big winner of the European Film Awards 2018 was the Polish-British-French co-production COLD WAR which received European Film, Director and Screenwriter for Pawel Pwalikowski, Actress for Joanna Kulig, and Editor for Jaroslaw Kaminski.

The Italian actor Marcello Fonte was honoured for his performance in DOGMAN which also won European Costume Designer for Massimo Cantini Parrini and European Make-up & Hair for Dalia Colli, Lorenzo Tamburini and Daniela Tartari.

Further awards went to U - JULY 22 (Martin Otterbeck, Cinematographer), THE SUMMER (Andrey Ponkratov, Production Designer), 3 DAYS IN QUIBERON (Christoph M. Kaiser, Julian Maas, Composers), THE CAPTAIN (Andre Bendocchi-Alves, Martin Steyer, Sound Designers) and BORDER (Peter Hjorth, Visual Effects). The People's Choice Award went to CALL ME BY YOUR NAME by Luca Guadagnino.
