At the 29th European Film Awards, celebrated in Wroclaw (Poland), Finnish director Juho Kuosmanen received the European Discovery - Prix FIPRESCI for THE HAPPIEST DAY IN THE LIFE OF OLLI MÄKI, Italian director Gianfranco Rosi won European Documentary for FIRE AT SEA and Claude Barras from Switzerland European Animated Feature Film for MY LIFE AS A ZUCCHINI.

Big winner of the 2016 European Film Awards was TONI ERDMANN which took home European Film, Director and Screenwriter for Maren Ade, Actress for Sandra Hüller and Actor for Peter Simonischek.

Further awards went to LAND OF MINE (Camilla Hjelm Knudsen, Cinematograper, Stefanie Bieker, Costume Designer, and Barbara Kreuzer, Hair & Make-up Artist), THE COMMUNE (Janus Billeskov Jansen, Editor), SUFFRAGETTE (Alice Normington, Production Designer), THE STUDENT (Ilya Demutsky, Composer) and 11 MINUTES (Radoslaw Ochnio, Sound Designer).
